What is NUSPUN®?
NUSPUN® is Niber Technologies’ ingredient brand of performance laminates, engineered on a proprietary electrospinning platform. It is built to deliver ultra-breathable, tunable weather protection to the apparel it’s built into — moving with you, not against you. What makes NUSPUN® laminates different from other waterproof-breathable materials?
Most PFAS-free alternatives force a trade-off between waterproofing and breathability. NUSPUN® laminates are built fiber by fiber through a proprietary electrospinning technology, so breathability and weather protection can be tuned to spec — delivered in a laminate that’s lightweight, soft, and stretches comfortably with you.
What is Active Comfort?
Active Comfort is the experience NUSPUN® products are built around — comfort you feel in motion, not just protection you’re told you have. It’s what happens when an apparel breathes as hard as you do.
Are NUSPUN® materials PFAS-free?
Yes. NUSPUN® membranes and laminates are PFAS-free by design, manufactured without intentionally added PFAS materials.
How does NUSPUN® achieve both breathability and water protection?
NUSPUN® laminates are built from an electrospun 3D nanofiber web — built fiber by fiber, not cast or stretched like conventional membranes. Millions of microscopic pores let moisture vapor escape while keeping liquid water out, delivering ultra-breathable performance with tunable weather protection.
How breathable is NUSPUN®?
NUSPUN® laminates reach 2-3 RET* levels on the most breathable platform in the system — putting them among the most breathable performance materials available, engineered to vent moisture the moment you move.
*RET (Resistance to Evaporative Heat Transfer) measures how easily moisture vapor passes through a fabric — the lower the number, the more breathable the material. Figures based on internal test data.

NUSPUN® laminates are built from an electrospun 3D nanofiber web — built fiber by fiber, not cast or stretched like conventional membranes. Millions of microscopic pores let moisture vapor escape while keeping liquid water out, delivering ultra-breathable performance with tunable weather protection.
What are the NUSPUN® product platforms?
NUSPUN® laminates span three product platforms — Arcus, Ventus, and Stratos — each tuned for a different balance of breathability and weather protection, from severe-weather protection to high-output airflow.
How lightweight are NUSPUN® materials?
NUSPUN® laminates are built to stay light without giving up protection — weight varies by platform and construction, since the finished laminate includes more than the membrane alone. At the membrane level, NUSPUN® starts as light as 3g/m² — made from ultrafine nanofibers to create effective protection at a fraction of the weight of conventional membrane, with a soft hand-feel and comfortable stretch built in.

Both. Niber Technologies, the company behind NUSPUN®, continues OEM membrane supply alongside its NUSPUN® ingredient brand program.
When will NUSPUN® laminates be available to brand partners?
NUSPUN® laminates become available to brand partners from Q1 2027, with the first products expected in Fall/Winter 2027 outerwear collections.
Can NUSPUN® be configured to our brand’s specific brief?
Yes. Working directly with the NUSPUN® team, brand partners can configure weight, construction, substrate, and functional modifiers to match their exact performance brief.
Is there exclusivity for brand partners?
It depends on the nature of the partnership — reach out to discuss what’s possible for your brand.
